Lovely poem Louisa. And how true. Life would be very boring without diversity in everything. People, friends, food, cloths, really in everything we seek variety.
The nuances in life bring so much. We just spent 2 days in a cancer hospital with an extremely diverse staff. What made it bearable? The staff! The flow of caring between each other. The interest in each others different lives. While 9 months of labor should not be understated, we all add to life, we all teach our youth, we all contribute to the beauty of life or the demise.
Keep those poems and stories coming. ☺️ It helps all feel seen.
Thank you for contributing to this discourse about diversity. Caring for one another and appreciating the differences can be so nourishing. I love this: "we all add to life, we all teach our youth, we all contribute to the beauty of life or the demise."
Glad that my work helps you feel seen. That's the purpose of sharing my writing ❤️.
By the way, what brought you to the cancer hospital, if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you for sharing, Grace. Not knowing the circumstances, I just want to send you and your husband my positive thoughts and hoping that he will get the best care possible.
Thank you. We are at the best in Texas. That gives us comfort. Living life the best we can while we are here….one day at a time. (Sounds simple - it toke a lot to get here)
I'm glad you have found the best hospital and are surrounded by kind souls. The road ahead may be full of challenges, but you sound grounded and present. Your husband is lucky to have you by his side as he takes on the journey. My best wishes to you both ❤

My husband discovered a lump on his side. It’s been a whirlwind getting down here.
