The Corporatization of American Society Plays a Critical Role in Undermining Democracy
Political ideologies, race and identities are superficial differences used to rationalize division. The true divide of our society is between the have's and have not's.
The fight between the left and the right, between white people and people of color are distractions from the much greater war that’s being waged at every level of society. I’m not saying that these conflicts aren’t real. They certainly are! But they are being used by the sick and sadistic people at the top of the government to stoke division and steal agency from the voting public. It’s crucial to look underneath these conflicts to understand the real fight—one between the have’s and the have-nots. This understanding will shed light on who the true suppressors of people are, and whether we stand a chance to save and rebuild our democratic system.
Now, I’m not a political scientist nor social psychologist. I’m a former political journalist in Hong Kong and have witnessed the entire process of how freedom and the rule of law was chipped away and dismantled in my hometown over the course of three decades. I was also a former editor for a reputable American management magazine, and worked in Corporate America as a low-rank employee for many years. My reporting and in-the-trench observations as a have-not brought me insights. I saw how the prioritization of profits over people has become the social norm, and how this has eaten into the civic mind like a cancerous tumor, dousing the righteous anger in people’s bellies and rendering them incapable to taking timely action to stop the encroachment of authoritarianism.
In this article, I’ll be using my personal experience and observation to draw a theory, which is reflected in the headline. I invite you to give it some consideration and tell me if you find any validity in it.
