From my archive I found something I created in 1996. It was an exercise to express the concept of “anomaly” using the Illustrator software. I was taking a computer graphics course back then. Somehow, it speaks to me today. It seems to express the surreal and abnormal events that are unfolding in front of our eyes every day.
As a highly sensitive person, reading a lot of words or watching videos can overwhelm my senses quickly. But not staring at a piece of artwork. Making art also calms my nerves.
This piece is rudimentary in its execution, but I feel that it’s pretty powerful in expressing how the foundation and structure of our civil society is falling apart because the real-life SPECTRE has come loose and become totally unhinged. I’m sure AI can make a much more spectacular rendition, but I prefer low-tech. Stare at this simple image and zone out.
